Grit and Grace – Finding Home

The Florida Chautauqua is proud to host Grit & Grace, the Official Folklife Production of Walton County! The 2022 Production of Grit and Grace is “Finding Home” by renowned Artist, Poet, and Playwright, Nancy Hasty.

Event dates are July 22-23, 7 pm and July 24, 2 pm at the Chautauqua Ritz Theatre in DeFuniak Springs.

Willy Wonka Jr. Registration Open

Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka JR. follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Join the cast and you’ll be in a world of pure imagination!

Announcing Frozen Kids

We are freezing with excitement to announce our fall production in partnership with @ectheatreco will be Frozen Jr./Kids! Applications are being accepted for Kindergarten through 12th grade students. Practices begin the week of August 23rd and will run through November 18th. #thecoldneverbotheredusanyway #doyouwanttobuildasnowman

Madagascar Jr. Performances

Our young students have been working hard to bring you Madagascar Jr.! Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto your stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime. This hilarious show follows all of your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar. Performed by our fantastic education program students.
